KNITTING
 
Beginning Knitting with MYS Staff
During the first 2 classes, you will learn to cast on, knit, purl, increase, decrease & cast off. On the 3rd class session, you will pick out an easy project, learn to read knitting instructions & work on your chosen project for the remainder of the course. Fee: $76/4 week session

Note:  All materials must be purchased from Mosaic Yarn Studio, Ltd.  Beginning Knitting can be taken twice.

Intermediate Knitting
You will learn more advanced techniques of your choice. For example, you can choose a simple cabled sweater pattern, a fair isle pattern, an intarsia pattern - the choice is yours! This class can be taken over and over and over and over...

Correcting Mistakes with Darlene Joyce
Are you tired of running into the shop every time the stitches fall off the needle? Come and learn how to correct common mistakes made while knitting. You will learn to pick up dropped stitches in stockinette, garter, and at the end of the row. The class will include exercises in dropping down pattern stitches, picking up dropped stitches, and ripping out rows of knitting and getting stitches back on the needle. Please pick up homework sheet or upload here.

Lintilla with Darlene Joyce  
 
Part of her “Hitchhiker Series”, Martina Belm describes her love garter stitch and her design, Lantilla. “Most hand-dyed yarns look really fab in it. So I just could not resist to design another little garter stitch shawlette: Lintilla. It comes with a special long and narrow triangular, slightly asymmetrical construction and a beautiful scalloped, subtly ruffled edge that is really fun to make.” Permission was granted from designer to teach this class at MYS.

Felted Clogs with June Sorensen
Learn how to make this customer favorite slipper. Using two strands of Lamb’s Pride and a size 10 1/2 circular needle, these clogs come in many sizes. Students will learn short row shaping, three needle bind off and machine felting.

Socks from the Toe Up with Courtney Buckalew


With the yarn of your choice & some basic foot measurements, Courtney will guide you through the basic calculations & techniques for knitting a sock. The Turkish Toe does not use short rows like the German method and many knitters find it easier to execute. Students can opt to use double points or two circular needles.

Bunny Fun with Darlene Joyce
With the Lamb’s Pride colors of your choice and a size 10 1/2 needle, this bunny knits up quick. Students will learn short row shaping, basic animal construction and how to felt. It is joy to make and soooo cute:)

Floofy Skirt with Darlene Joyce

The Floofy Skirt is great for all age groups! You can shorten it and make a mini, omit the ruffle and make it long or make it all in one color or self-striping yarn. The choice is yours! This skirt can be made in any size and in any yarn. CROCHETING
 

Beginning/ Intermediate Crochet with Robyn Schoessow

This class is for crocheters of any skill level.  It is tailored around what you know and what you'd like to learn.  If you're new to crochet, you'll get started with chain, single, and double crochet stitches.  Already know the basics?  Then learn to read patterns and stitch diagrams.  If you want to learn classics like granny squares, doilies, motifs, or filet crochet, only your imagination is the limit!  Come prepared with a project of your choosing, and let's get started.  All yarn must be purchased from MYS.

South Bay Shawlette with Robyn Schoessow

Although this pattern is charted out very clearly, it also includes written words for those crocheters who are just learning how to read charts. This shawlette calls for 642 yards of a fingering weight yarn. Robyn made hers in Mini Moochi!

CLASS POLICIES
Class Materials:
Except when noted, yarns must be purchased from Mosaic Yarn Studio. Come in as soon as possible to pick out your supplies in case we need to order something. Students receive a 10% discount on all class materials!
Registration:
Registration is required for all classes. 100% of the class fee is due at registration. You may register by phone via Visa/Mastercard/American Express or use our online secure  shopping cart.  Of course, you can always register in person!
Minimum:
A minimum of three students is required in order for a class to run. You will be notified one week in advance if the minimum is not met and your deposit will be refunded.
Balance:
The balance of the class fees is due on the first day of class.
Cancellation:
Store credit can be issued for your deposit if we are notified one week before the start of class. After this point, deposits are non-refundable. Out of courtesy to our instructors, no make-up classes are given.
 
Special Fee Classes:
100% payment is due at the time of registration.
