Fantastic Friday: Making Mittens (for Kid's Pantry) via Zoom

This Fantastic Friday will be special because we will be giving back to the community.  We will be knitting/crocheting mittens for the kids in Mount Prospect that are served by the Kid's Pantry

Whether you knit or crochet or both, we will walk you through you how to make mittens!  We will be sharing with you our "As Easy As It Gets Mittens" knit pattern and Mountain Colors "Crochet Mittens".  If you know how to make mittens, you can use any pattern you choose.

We are looking for good quality mittens made from nice yarn.  Keep in mind that washable yarns that contain some wool are best for easy care AND warm.  Also, we want to be be proud of what we give to this charity so think about quality over quantity.  What would you make for your family member?

Our suggested machine washable yarns (worsted weight) are:
Berroco Vintage
Plymouth Encore Worsted
Plymouth Encore Worsted Colorspun
Jelli Beenz
Cashmerino Aran (sale yarn)
Super Lamb 4/8 (sale yarn)

The size of the finished mitten does not matter as they will be donated to kids of different ages from babies to teens, but it should be knit/crochet fairly densely for warmth.

After registering for the event, we will send you the patterns and give you a link to the Zoom meeting.
